The Fashion Studies minor is offered to non-majors. A GPA requirement of 2.5 remains the standard. No courses may be taken as pass/fail. Fashion Studies minors are required to complete a total of six courses (17-18 credits).

Career Opportunities: The Fashion Design Associate of Applied Science degree will prepare students for employment in the fashion industry. In addition, many students study fashion design for personal enrichment as it enables them to design and make their own custom clothing or perform alterations.


The interdisciplinary program incorporates aspects of art, psychology, sociology, business, history, and science. In addition to the core curriculum, specific tracks within the fashion major will provide you with opportunities to specialize in one of two areas.
